Sineu is a beautiful village, full of history, in the center of Mallorca. The old town retains a medieval street plan where they alternate from large stately homes to simple town houses. Enjoy walking through the narrow streets or visiting the many cafes and restaurants the village offers all with out door terraces and Mediterranean atmosphere.
Culture and art
In Sineu there is an interesting architectural heritage. The church stands out with its impressive bell tower and the convent “des Minims”, today the town hall of Sineu. It also highlights, what once was, the Palau Real and the old hospital.
Nature
Enjoy the changing landscape throughout the year. The green of the field and the flowering of the almond trees in winter. The colorful spring with its fields full of poppies, lilies and wild daisies. The enormous straw bales during the summer turn the landscape into a work of art.
Sports
The location of Sineu makes it an ideal base for sports. Just 15 minutes away there is a magnificent golf course. Take your bike and discover the island through the many rural roads. Do you like hiking? With the car you will arrive in a short time to the starting points of many excursions. The village is also the starting point of beautiful walks.
Sea and beach
Mallorca has spectacular and varied coastline. Only 20 minutes by car from Sineu you will find both the wildest coastline but also the popular sandy beaches. Other beaches and coves of the island can be reached in less than 50 minutes, with wonderful scenery to be enjoyed on the journey to them.
Fairs and parties
Every Wednesday, for 700 years, the island’s most famous market is held in Sineu. Throughout the year there are many activities: “Fira de Maig”, “Fira de Matances”, “Sant Antoni”, Summer parties, the Theater Festival “Ciclop”, the Light Festival “Contrallum”, and the “Much de Reig” party, where the whole village dresses in pink.
Gastronomy
Sineu offers a great variety of gastronomy. The old “cellers” (spaces where wine was made and rested) offer tradicional Mallorcan cuisine. For those wanting something different there are more than 15 restaurants with other types of cuisine. All of them can be reached on foot.
